Former senior researcher at CERE, Dr. Ioannis Tsvintzelis, has recently received a grant from Latsis Foundation (in Greece) for the project : "CO2 Capture, Transport and Storage processes: Thermodynamic Investigation of Relevant Fluid Mixtures"

This is a great success in a very tough competition, where only 9 out of 220 submitted proposals in the Physical Sciences field have been funded (4.1% success rate)

More information is available in the web-site of the Foundation:

The project will be conducted in Ioannis current affiliation, the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Thessaloniki and is in collaboration with professor Costas Panayiotou (U. Thessaloniki) and professor Georgios Kontogeorgis (CERE, DTU Chemical Engineering). It is expected that a PhD student will be employed to work part-time on this project.

The project involves both new measurements of CO2 with potential new CCS solvents as well as thermodynamic modeling with advanced thermodynamic models, such as the equations of state NRHB, PC-SAFT and CPA.

CERE congratulates Ioannis & Costas for this success and is looking forward to this collaboration.
