The
Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a worldwide organization serving the professionals in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the profession through different programs and activities. SPE’s vision is to be a society of professional excellence, advancing the oil and gas community’s ability to meet the world’s energy demands in a safe, environmentally responsible, and sustainable manner.
SPE DTU Student Chapter
At a university level, SPE is present through the student chapters. Student members attending the university annually elect officers. Every SPE chapter is sponsored by an SPE section. Our student chapter is part of the SPE Copenhagen section.
The SPE DTU student chapter is affiliated with the Petroleum Engineering section of the department of Chemical Engineering at DTU. Our mission as a student chapter at DTU is to raise the standards of our students, society and department by providing opportunities for students to enhance their technical and professional competences. Apart from creating opportunities to network with like-minded industry professionals, we play an important role in organizing activities that reflect the demands of the industry. This is achieved by:
- Technical lectures
- Company visits and interviews
- Networking events with (young) professionals
- Extracurricular activities
For professionals
Our student chapter also serves as an entry point for the industry to reach our students. Either for technical interests, job opportunities or any other purpose, we can work as a platform to put interested professionals in touch with the right people inside the university.
