PetroPhase 2016 - The 17th International Conference on Petroleum Phase Behavior and Fouling was held in Helsingør from Sunday the 19th June to Thursday the 23rd.

PetroPhase is an international conference aimed at researchers in industry and academia dedicated to the study of the properties and chemistry of petroleum fluids and their effect on producing, processing, and refining in the upstream, mid-stream, and downstream industries. The conference started in 1999 as “The International Conference on Petroleum Phase Behavior & Fouling” and has since evolved into an annual event held in different countries around the world.

180 people attended the conference and there were over 150 technical presentations from industry and academia from countries all over the world. One of the highlights of the conference was the gala dinner held in Kronborg castle (“Hamlet’s castle”) where Hamlet himself appeared during the dinner!

The conference was chaired by Nicolas von Solms, DTU Chemical Engineering and CERE-DTU, Wei Yan, DTU Chemistry and CERE-DTU and Simon Andersen, Schlumberger.
