RENESENG II

The project goal is to advance the emerging area of Biorefineries-systems engineering (BSE) and particularly investigate the role that BSE can play on waste valorisation and, thus, circular economy.

RENESENG-II will capitalize on recent advances and contribute to the development of diverse disciplines (e.g. process systems engineering, industrial biotechnology, catalytic engineering, environmental systems analysis). The application domain will cover thermochemical, chemical, and biochemical valorisation of diverse waste biomass sources. The project is a collaboration of different universities and companies all over Europe.

The project started on 01 January 2018 and ends on 01 January 2022.

The project covers seven working packages (WP):

1.         Repositories of process and property models

2.         Value chain modelling and sustainability assessment across feedstocks, products, and industries

3.         Workflows modelling for circular economy and business development

4.         Application domain 1: Municipal solid waste and wastewater

5.         Application domain 2: Lignocellulosic agricultural and forestry waste

6.         Application domain 3: Industrial waste biomass

7.         Dissemination, exploitation and communication program

8.         Project management

DTU is leading WP1 and is actively involved in WP3, WP6 & WP7. For more information related to the project please access the RENESENG II website http://www.reneseng2.com/ .
