SUMMARY:CERE Seminar by Francois Kruger
DESCRIPTION:
"Phase Equilibrium Measurements and Thermodynamic Modelling of Petroleum Fluids Relevant to Subsea Processing"
\n
Abstract:
\nSubsea processing (separation, boosting and compression) offers the opportunity for on-spec gas export direct from the seabed with improved recovery and extended reservoir lifetimes.
\n
The aim of this project is to generate new phase equilibrium data and improve existing thermodynamic models, in order to facilitate process designs relevant to subsea gas processing installations.
\n
During the seminar, we will give an overview of the project, detailing the various experimental and thermodynamic modelling work, which has been completed and is on-going.
\n
The experimental section of the project is focused on generating high-pressure vapour-liquid equilibrium data for MEG in mixtures with water, methane and other natural gas components, while the modelling section considers how we model these systems using CPA and whether there are ways to do it better.
