Active participation of the DTU SPE Student Chapter (the Chairman Ph.D. Student Leonardo Meireles) has made it possible to provide presence of many DTU students at the meeting. In total, around 70 participants from the academia and from the industry were registered for the meeting.

Tuesday the 21st November, DTU hosted the meeting of the Copenhagen Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE).

Senior Scientist Wei Yan of CERE, DTU Chemistry, was invited to give a technical presentation on phase equilibrium in shale – a project carried out in collaboration with Conoco Philips and Exxon Mobil.

This theme of academia/industry collaboration was continued in the after dinner talk given by Assoc. Prof. Nicolas von Solms of CERE, DTU Chemical Engineering. In his talk he gave examples of positive experiences of long-term collaboration between CERE and its corporate partners.

The meeting started with a student poster session where Research Assistant Jyoti Pandey was awarded best poster for his work on a DHRTC sprint project “Radical concepts for deep reach through acid injection.” The project was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Nicolas von Solms.
