Data Bank for Electrolyte Solutions

Data Bank for Electrolyte Solutions is a compilation of experimental data for aqueous solutions of electrolytes and/or non-electrolytes.

Currently the data bank for electrolyte solutions contains experimental data from 2852 scientific papers. The experimental data are stored electronically. Most of the experimental data concern aqueous solutions. Some of these solutions also contain non-electrolytes like alcohols, alkanolamines, acetone, or sucrose. A total of 381 different solute species appear in these data.

A few of the data in the data bank are not really experimental, but come from correlations. From the title of the corresponding papers you will usually be able to tell. A few of the data were taken from handbooks, but the great majority of data were taken directly from the original papers.

CERE member companies can order, from time to time, and free of charge limited amounts of data (up to 100 data points). Universities can also request limited amounts of data and these requests will prioritized according to the available resources. The use of data should be for non-profit research purposes. Please use your university e-mail address when ordering data for academic purposes.

It is free to browse the data bank. Click on Search in the menu to the left in order to search the data bank. If you log in you will also be able to order data from us.

The 152,076 experimental data currently stored electronically include the following types of data:

  • Activity/Osmotic coefficients in binary and ternary solutions
  • Dissociation/speciation data
  • Apparent relative molal enthalpy
  • Heat of dilution
  • Heat of solution
  • Apparent molal heat capacity
  • Heat capacity
  • Density
  • Gas solubility (CO2, SO2, NH3, O2, H2S)
  • Gas Hydrate formation (CO2, H2S)
  • Solid-liquid equilibrium in binary, ternary and quaternary solutions
  • Liquid-liquid equilibrium
  • Vapor-liquid equilibrium
