Large interest was attracted by a possible joint industry project suggested by Senior Researcher Arne Døssing Andreasen of DTU Space. Arne Døssing Andreasen, geophysicist and a recent new member of the CERE faculty, outlined how aeromagnetic field data can be integrated with more traditional geological and geophysical data for use in oil and gas exploration. Further, such data can be utilized for establishing the border for exploration in existing fields.
Other presentations outlined new possibilities for thermal energy storage in deep aquifers, and possible hydrate inhibition during oil and gas production through smart coatings and polymer pipelines instead of steel.
