Schlumberger´s Petrel Reservoir Engineering Course

9 - 11 March, 2009, 09:00 - 17:00

IVC-SEP

Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering

Building 229, room 003

This three days course is intended for reservoir engineers who want to setup a Petrel model ready for simulation in ECLIPSE or FrontSim. The course shows how to scale up an existing fine-scaled geological model to a coarser simulation model, covering both grid coarsening and property up scaling. The course simulation model is then used to define a simulation case including a black oil fluid model, relative permeability tables, and a rock compaction curve, all created inside Petrel. Wells with associated completion items are designed, and simulation well controls are added using the new Development strategy process, with both history strategy and prediction strategy runs addressed. The course also covers viewing simulation results in Petrel and using the graphical tools and functionality of Petrel to do quality checking at all stages of the workflow.
