The titel for Yingjun Cai’s PhD project is “The Thermodynamics and Transport Properties of Ionic-Liquids Based Compounds”.
The objective of this project is to formulate ionic liquids for use as electrolytes in Lithium batteries. Thermal and electrochemical stability, are key properties that favor the utilization of ionic liquids in the energy storage and conversion field.
In electrochemical applications, a series of ionic liquids have been studied as candidates for electrolyte additives and solvents for the lithium-ion batteries electrolytes. However, the thermodynamics of electrolytes composed of ionic liquids, solvents and lithium salts has not been investigated.
Yingjun will be supervised by Kaj Thomsen and Nicolas von Solms and her office will be in building 229, room 206.
