This apparatus is used for the determination of the viscosity of single phase reservoir fluids and related systems.
Viscosity measurements are performed in the temperature range up to 200°C and pressure range up to 150 MPa.
The basic equation of the capillary viscometer is the Hagen–Poiseuille law, an specific flow rate is set to the measured fluid and the pressure drop through the capillary is measured.
The viscometer has several capillaries with different dimensions covering a wide range of viscosities from 0.2 to 12000 mPa∙s.
